Chief Zzeh Gittlit School
Community Committee

Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation signed a Community Committee Agreement with the First Nation School Board on July 8th 2024.

This historic agreement was signed by Chief Pauline Frost and FNSB Trustee and VGFN Citizen Dana Tizya-Tramm.

Community Committee agreements are flexible to change, adapt, and grow in time. They outline which powers of the Education Act are shared between the Community Committee and the school board.

Committee Members (L-R):
Sophia Flather (Chair), Roger Kyikavichik, Renee Charlie, Sherrie Frost, and Brianna Lord.

Community Committees empower the community to guide its own school.

The Chief Zzeh Gittlit School Community Committee is the governing body for the K-12 school in Old Crow. Together, they share authorities and responsibilities over the management and operation of the school with the First Nation School Board.

They are representatives of, and accountable to, the community of Old Crow including the First Nations, Elders and Knowledge Keepers, residents and citizens, parents, families - and above all - the Learners of CZGS.
